Live After Death on DVD with Surround Sound ?

on August 31, 2005 @ 11:47

According to Kevin Shirley website, the Maiden producer worked on a 'Live After Death' DVD which will feature 5.1 surround sound.

He produced, engineered and mixed it.

No word if the release is already in the pipe. It is also not known if the release will be part of the next History DVD or will be sold as a stand-alone disc.

Cool, hope it will be in a part of the Maiden history, so it won't be so expensive.

Yes, It is going to bee the next part of the story, just read the details about the Early Days release at ironmaiden.com...

I'm just dying for it, cause i really like the concert, but that bazilian stuff makes the sound really bad....

It can't be REAL 5.1 sound, it was just emulated and burned as 5.1....
Probably they can mix it better in Shirley's Studio...

Yeah, i have it too. The 5.1 is just a very bad version of the stereo mix. I mean it sounds much better if you choose stereo!!!
I hope i's part of the history dvds but also hope it's all on there and not just part of it...

Well it's not real surround sound, but if they still have the master tapes, the various sources (guitar, drums, audience,...) can be remixed to add some depth and that would be really great.

Cheers

if they have the masters they can make a perfect 5.1. Check priest's LIVE dvd in the Metalogy box set, which was filmed in 82

More than likely this will be part of the next History set... although I'd like to see it as a standalone release... certainly deserves to be.
