a little strange today.

But then the card came up / and I took another turn / But I don't know if / Tell me what you can hear / and then tell me what you see / everybody has a different way to see the world / I would like you to know / when you see the simple things / To appreciate this life it's not late to learn

Somewhere I'd rather be
But when I get there
I'm afraid it's not for me

Very nice song, but frankly i expected something a bit heavier a la Aces High, with a better intro instead of this surprising riff-opener.

#12340, August 10, 2006 @ 22:39

i understand why they said that this album doesn't really sound like Iron Maiden

Oh man... I was expecting something like that when I read that it'll be "radio-friendly". I love the riffs and the high singing by Bruce, but... The low notes during the chorus I hate to say suck. So... light, so... happy... so commercial. I knew I expected too much after Benjamin Breeg.

#12347, August 10, 2006 @ 23:18

wow... that was 100% MAIDEN.... Up the Irons (greece)

Amazed so many people enjoyed it. I thought it started well but overall was a bit on the boring side. Maybe it'll go on me but I preferred Breeg

#12355, August 11, 2006 @ 06:56

I love it, much better than Benjamin

the corus is one the best ever

#12356, August 11, 2006 @ 07:01

The riff is awesome, but I can´t help thinking I´ve heard this before...
It´s a mix of the Wicker Man, Rainmaker and a song from the X Factor, can´t remember which.

It´s a much better album opener than Wildest Dreams was.

Thumbs up boys! :)

Hmmm. Reminds me of the Judgement Day b-side from X-Factor era. -Parmenion.

"Just" a classic Maiden, nothing special, I would say! Breeg is more like a Maiden "revolution" for me, which means: much better! ;)

Great opener, reminds me of wicker man mixed with aces high like vocals. AWESOME. MUST GET ALBUM.

#12365, August 11, 2006 @ 13:49

Anonymous said:

I can't understand, its the third album and the band decides to open the album up with the same style song, anyway its better than wildest dreams and the wickerman... as if for some parts they sound a bit refreshing...I personally expected something more kick in the ass, ala powerslave, killers, somewhere in time or seventh son Maiden, guess the band makes music fot 16-20 year olds now:-) This is no Maiden...still the hope lives on!!!

Ha! after all my troubles with sound cards and formats I have finally heard it!! Maidens gone pop!
much better than 'wildest dreams' but no 'wickerman'! nothing beats 'where eagles dare' for album opener! any want to challenge that?

The Chorus is very pop..happy..but very nice w/ beautiful vocals from Bruce. I didn't mean it in a derogatory way. Its a great song and I've been into IM since I bought Live After Death on cassette the week it came out. I just think this track is more commercial .. lighter.. radio friendly.. like "Wasted Years"! That's definiatly a compliment!

#12384, August 11, 2006 @ 19:27

Sounds like Maiden meets Space Hog, lol. The guitar solo part kicks a*!. Dude this so muuuuuuuccccccchhh better than the last cd. Two songs so far and both sound great.

for all my younger friends out there, there will never ba another NOTB,POM,PS,SIT, orSSOASS. Best album since SEVENTH was BNW. Wickerman was a great opener and that was the album that should have came after SSOASS. Different World sounds a little like Rainmaker and A little too poppy. Mr.Breeg is starting to grow on me. Need to hear a little more. Bruce's voice sounds on key and they still put on a great show.
